Pavel Durov est un jeune prodige né en 1984, formé en philologie à l’Université d’Etat de Saint-Petersbourg. Il a fondé successivement Vkontakte, le Facebook Russe, puis Telegram, application de messagerie tellement sécurisée que même les militants macronistes l’ont utilisée durant leur première campagne électorale.

C’est également un opposant à Vladimir Poutine, qui a acquis la nationalité française mais aussi celle de Saint-Kitts-et-Nevis par peur de poursuites du Kremlin. Sa plateforme Telegram a en effet été utilisée par l’armée Ukrainienne et par les commanditaires de différents attentats en Russie.

Coup de théâtre, ce n’est pas la Russie qui l’arrête et le menace d’emblée de vingt ans de réclusion criminelle, mais bien la France qui lui avait pourtant accordé sa nationalité. Dans le même temps, et pur hasard bien sûr, Durov avait déclaré que sa société avait été approchée par le FBI pour y installer des « backdoors » (portes arrières ou failles de sécurité délibérées pour pratiquer la surveillance de masse) et qu’il avait refusé. Telegram avait également hébergé des sources utilisées par Haaretz pour faire des révélations fracassantes en Israël

Il ne semble donc plus faire aucun doute quant aux motivations politiques cachées de l’arrestation du jeune entrepreneur. Nous recevons Maître Massimo Bianchi, pénaliste international et d’ailleurs polyglotte comme Durov, qui a beaucoup exercé dans et auprès de pays d’ex-URSS, pour analyser la situation. Avec lui nous simulerons aussi bien la défense que l’accusation, en tenant compte du caractère hautement politique de cette arrestation.
